Our solution
Bertani Trasporti, an Italian leader in logistics for cars and commercial vehicles, tasked Optit with optimising one of the most elaborate processes in the sector: travel and resource planning (vehicles and drivers).
When it comes to vehicle transport, efficiency is measured not only in kilometres but in every detail: in loads, in models shipped and in the capacity of each individual transporter. The challenge is to maximise capacity, reducing unnecessary travel and ensuring punctuality, quality of service and constant monitoring.
With a bespoke logistics platform, integrated with internal systems such as TMS, GPS and fleet tracking, Optit brought AI to the heart of Bertani’s operating model.
We developed a dedicated algorithm that combines:
- machine learning to learn from historical data and the operational choices of users;
- advanced mathematical models for real-time management of vehicle mixes, operational constraints and delivery times;
- a system in constant evolution, where user modifications to platform-generated load plans progressively improve load configurations.
These are some of the results:
- the full integration of historical analysis with current strategy;
- greater vehicle saturation and reduction of operating costs;
- pick-up optimisation that makes even complex journeys easy to manage.
