Andrea Duvia and Matteo Pozzi took part in the seminar ‘Digitalization \u2013 Transfer and use of data,’ held as part of the Specialization Days in District Heating organized by AGFW (the German national association for district heating) in Kassel.<\/p>\n
Duvia spoke on the panel ‘Impulses from the industry towards digitalization options in district heating practice,’ presenting Optit’s solution for production optimization (OptiEPM). With a constantly evolving mix of technologies, combining cogeneration and gas boilers with technologies such as heat pumps, electric boilers, waste heat sources, and thermal storage, dispatch planning is becoming increasingly complex. However, interaction with electricity markets can open up unprecedented opportunities. With decision support solutions developed by Optit, these opportunities can be strategically evaluated and operationally implemented, yielding extremely competitive economic returns.<\/p>\n
Thanks to a more decisive strategy, opportunities are also opening up in the German market, following promising pilot projects carried out during the UpgradeDH project, where Optit collaborated with the Municipal Society of Marburg, the main sponsor of the Kassel event.\u00a0 It’s a circle that closes, hopefully auspicious for this new development direction!<\/p>\n
