The project focused on improving the efficiency of existing district heating systems, proposing scalable and replicable templates for the European level.<\/p>\n<p>By involving countries with diverse demands and limitations in their District Heating &amp; Cooling systems, including Lithuania, Poland, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, Italy and Denmark, the project aimed to create a common base of knowledge and tools to accompany operators and public decision-makers in the energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>At Optit, we dedicated ourselves to the analysis and qualification of retrofitting modifications on-site. Our contribution focused on outlining technical and financial strategies to optimise heat production and distribution through the application of our simulation models, forecasting scenarios and decision-making tools and supporting stakeholders in the development of more sustainable and resilient solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Upgrade DH was an important opportunity to disseminate knowledge and best practices, helping to make the district heating sector in Europe greener and more efficient.<\/p>\n<p><i>Funded by the European Union through the Horizon 2020 program \u2013 Grant Agreement no.
