Since 2013, Optit has supported Alstom in the development of algorithms that keep rail traffic flowing. Within the management system of the French transport giant, designed and developed in Bologna, we integrated an advanced algorithmic component, designed to resolve traffic conflicts in real-time.
Using advanced operational research techniques, the system takes only a few seconds to develop the best strategies to change departures, routes and speed, thereby guaranteeing:
- dynamic and responsive contingency management procedures;
- full use of the available infrastructure;
- service regularity even when operational limits are pushed to the maximum.
