Among the first to adopt Optit’s logistics platform was an influential international group in the agri-food sector and global symbol of Made in Italy.
Since 2019, its support has helped us with transportation planning from production sites to warehouses, with the aim of optimising the supply chain in terms of efficiency, sustainability and flexibility.
Every day, more than 200 full truckload (FTL) shipments are coordinated from over twenty facilities, within a framework that involves multi-pick, multi-drop, LIFO (Last In, First Out) logic and precise delivery windows. It is a highly structured environment, where every decision affects costs, sustainability and quality of service.
Optit has developed a customised routing algorithm, integrated with SAP and the Planning module of OptiLogistics. The system receives orders from the ERP, aggregates and transforms them into optimised route plans, ready for execution, within an interface that makes managing daily routes clear and straightforward.
The results speak for themselves:
- 50% reduction in planning times;
- increased standardisation and clarity in processes, enabling easier onboarding of new planners;
- optimised travel plans: fewer kilometres, better utilisation of vehicles, savings on transport costs;
- enhanced monitoring through advanced KPIs which track the capacity of the vehicles as well as the cost/efficiency ratio.
