Our solution

SEI Toscana, the sole operator of environmental services for ATO Toscana Sud (including the provinces of Arezzo, Grosseto, Siena and six municipalities in the province of Livorno), has partnered with Optit to fully transform the provision of its services. The aim: to improve operational efficiency, track performance and generate value for local communities using a systemic approach that combines consultancy with technological solutions.

The project is rooted in a shared vision of innovation, sustainability and the importance of data. As a first step, Optit developed a modular model capable of addressing a wide range of priorities and initiating multiple courses of action.

  • Collection optimisation: with OptiRoute, real data is used to streamline services, fine-tuned to the needs of local areas, vehicle characteristics and drivers.
  • Management control and operational KPIs: together with the SEI Toscana team, Optit identified relevant field data to monitor the effectiveness of services and build performance indicators suitable for use across all levels of the company.
  • Logistics redesign: thanks to OptiWasteFlow, the waste management logistics network was strategically reviewed, allowing for the generation of optimised and measurable outcomes.

The key to success is the “rule of engagement”: a consultancy approach integrated with the systematic use of the best-suited digital technological solutions at each stage of the process (design, simulation, implementation, monitoring).

The result is a replicable model that improves the governance of environmental services by increasing transparency, response capacity and returns, both economic and environmental.
